Posify is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
What we collect
Your photos
When you photograph a film negative or pick one from your library, that image is sent to our AI service for processing. Your photos are:
- Processed by our AI service and immediately returned to your device
- Stored locally on your device only
- Never shared with advertising networks
- Never retained permanently by the AI service provider
Usage data
We collect anonymous analytics to understand how the app is used and fix issues: feature usage patterns, performance metrics, error logs, and basic device info (OS version, app version). This data is not linked to you personally.
Advertising data (free users only)
We use Google AdMob to show ads to free users. AdMob may collect your Android Advertising ID, device info, app interactions, approximate location (via IP), and ad interaction data. Upgrade to Pro to remove all ads. See Google's Privacy Policy and Ads Privacy for details.
Feedback
If you contact us or submit feedback through the app, we collect your message to respond and improve the service.
How we use your information
- Invert and color-correct your film negatives using AI
- Store your converted photos and scan history locally on your device
- Show relevant ads to free users and measure ad performance
- Monitor and improve app performance
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Manage subscriptions and premium features
Data sharing
We only share data with two third parties:
- AI Processing Service — your photos are sent temporarily for conversion. They are not stored or used for any other purpose.
- Google AdMob — device identifiers and app activity are shared for advertising (free users only). Your photos are never shared with AdMob.
Storage and security
Your converted photos, originals, and app preferences are stored locally on your device and accessible only by the app. Any data transmitted to our servers uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
Permissions we request
- Camera — to photograph your physical film negatives
- Photo Library — to select existing negatives and save converted photos to your device
- Advertising ID — to show personalized ads (free users only)
Your controls
- Delete individual photos or all history anytime from the History screen
- Reset your Android Advertising ID via Settings → Google → Ads
- Opt out of personalized ads via Settings → Google → Ads
- Control camera and photo library access through device settings
- Opt out of analytics by uninstalling the app
- Upgrade to Pro to remove all advertisements
Children's privacy
Posify is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We'll notify you of significant changes by updating the date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
